Brian Ortega climbs the rankings to the number 1 featherweight spot
Move over Jose Aldo, Brian Ortega has claimed the number one spot in the UFC featherweight division. After his spectacular finish over perennial great, Frankie Edgar, Brian Ortega has quickly made his way to title-contender.
T-City flew up the ranks by finishing every opponent that he has faced in the UFC. Based on his performances alone, he was ranked twelfth going into his fight with Cub Swanson. When he beat Cub, he shot up to the third spot in the division rankings.
Then, Frankie Edgar was scheduled to fight Max Holloway for the belt, but after Max got injured, Frankie took the fight with Ortega. We all saw what happened in that fight and now Ortega just waits for a date to dance with Holloway.
For now, Ortega sits as the number one ranked featherweight in the world. Not bad for his eighth fight inside of the Octagon.
