Kru Chalee, fight name Jom De Lar, is originally from Udon Thani. He is a very patient trainer; friendly, relaxed and always happy to help students in and outside of the gym. When he’s not teaching and fighting, he enjoys playing football (soccer) and rattan ball (Takor), a traditional Thai sport that is much like playing volleyball with your feet.
Chalee has been fighting since he was 7 years old, has racked up an impressive 375 fights, and still actively competes around Thailand. He has fought at Lumpinee Stadium, Rajadamnern Stadium, on Channel 9 and all over Phuket, taking on some of the best fighters in the country: Lord La Nong, Dao Pad Rew and Sittisak Cheng Oui to name a few. Aside from training with some of the best fighters in Thailand, Kru Chalee has worked abroad training fighters in Japan and Korea as well. He has a background in Western Boxing and, outside of teaching in our Muay Thai classes, is the head Boxing trainer for our MMA fighters here at AKA Thailand. Kru Chalee is a fantastic instructor and has worked with Mike Swick to adapt his pad holding to suit the needs of our MMA fight team. If you train with him in the MMA program, prepare to sprawl!
