Kru Bird is back with another AKA Techniques video demonstration. Here, he shows the Jumping Knees Exercise for Muay Thai that is helpful for both cardio and fight technique.
To do this exercise, you will need a heavy bag. As Bird shows, you want to put both hands on the bag with your arms extended. You also want to be standing on your toes. Alternate knees into the bag as you bring your legs back to generate maximum power in the knee. As you can see, they are almost like mini flying knees.
It may seem easy enough but doing this routine in intervals is a killer for cardio. Getting used to kneeing like this will also help you for when training or competing. Knowing how to knee with power in close quarters is invaluable.
